“Turning a Blind eye” by Author Chinyere M Udeh

From an early age, most people have been taught to turn a blind eye and look the other way as long as it’s not directly or indirectly affecting or impacting them. Some were taught to always mind the business that pays or would pay them.

Some say to stay in your lane and focus on your business. This type of teaching forgets to mention the downsides of this intentional practice. So, I ask this question: if everyone turns a blind eye or looks away, how then do we know when someone is about to attack us individually?

How do we see our attackers? If we all turn a blind eye, that means no one has their eyes open to observe the world around us. How then do we stand as a human race to open up our eyes and see what’s happening to us and our neighbors? So, remember to stop and think for a second before you promote the ‘turning a blind eye and look away policy.’ If You See Something, Say Something to Save Someone.
