Staying silent in the face of injustice doesn’t help solve the issue, nor does it make the ongoing problem go away or stop. Staying silent only creates more harm than good. It creates a systematic system whereby people get hurt and nobody question it. It establishes a system that sees hurting, victimizing, oppressing, and victimization of the victims as a normal cultural practice and exercise of power and authority.
It helps build a society where people believe they are above the law. Just remember that the next time you choose to stay silent, you are helping to create “every silent witness strengthens the system they feared to challenge.” Staying silent in the face of injustice doesn’t make you smart, brave, or wise. It makes you a weak-ass, powerless, and cowardly person.
“Silence never protects you. It only protects the injustice you’re afraid to name.”
