Leaving your comfort zone is one of the most challenging and difficult things anyone can do, yet it is very rewarding. Leaving one’s comfort zone builds character, resilience, and pushes one to learn new things. As we are graduating today and soon will be heading to our individual duty stations, it is safe to say that we are walking into an unknown zone. Just stay and hold on a little bit longer, and you will see that your unknown zone will become your new comfort zone.

Last week, I became a victim of this unprecedented moment in history. I became a statistic of individuals suffering from discrimination.
This is not just about me; it’s more about the people worldwide suffering and smiling, or those who want to speak but are too afraid. This is about our brothers, sisters, and neighbors worldwide who do not know how or where to start defending themselves. I am calling on everyone wherever you are to stand up and help me stop this history from repeating itself.
Help me create a history where everyone comes together to say enough is enough. Help me say no to employment discrimination and other forms of discrimination we face as a nation. I am just one person, and I can not do it alone, but together, we can send a strong message that there is strength in numbers and power in unity.
