“He paved the way for me to walk in” by Author Chinyere Udeh

With a deeply saddened heart, it saddens me to say that the African American man who paved the way for my first professional career was unfairly dismissed from his position without just cause. He gave me an opportunity to learn and grow in my position when others believed that someone of my type wasn’t supposed to be there. He stood up for me during corporate politics that sought to terminate my employment because they believed I shouldn’t have been hired in the first place. He put his career on the line, protecting someone he had never met, during and after I mastered the job. This black man was my guardian angel; now, where is his guardian angel? I will forever be grateful and pay it forward.
