On a very cold winter night as I headed home from work, my car stopped me in the middle of a lonely road. Oh! Omg, why now? Why me? Was the question I asked myself before coming down the car. Standing outside with barely anything to protect me on the cold winter night, looking everywhere around the car and on the road to see if there is anyone coming to my rescue. Indeed, there were nobody nor any upcoming vehicles. Quickly, my mind reminded me to use my phone to call my boyfriend Douglas. Upon running back inside the car looking through my work bag for my phone, couldn’t find it.
Then, my mind went on to remind me yet again that I left it at home on top of the living room table after a quick sex with Douglas. Fuck! Fuck! God-damn it! Fuck am I gonna do now? As I was still mad at myself and using all the bad words I could dig out behind my ass, a hand touched me on the back. I immediately jumped and turned to know who the hand belonged to, then I saw a man whose face I wasn’t too sure to look at. Bro, what are you doing here? How come I didn’t notice or see you coming? He looked at me and said, well, maybe if you weren’t all mad at yourself, you would have noticed when I was approaching next to you. Could you help me? My car wouldn’t start. The man looked at the car for a few seconds, before going inside. He took the key and started the car and surprisingly, it started.
Where are you going? May I give you a ride? I asked. We are both heading in different directions, I will be fine; he stated, with a deep weird voice. But I insist, I replied. Look lady, it’s not everyone you see walking on a lonely road is stranded. Not every stranger is friendly. Not everyone who appears in human form is human. Go now and never stop for anyone until you arrive at your destination. He said, this time around with an angry face. I quickly entered my car and drove away, while driving I looked through my driver’s mirror to see if he was still standing; only to see that the strange man had disappeared.
